The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) –Salem , Tamil Nadu . Library serves as a resource center to meet the information needs of faculty members, students, researchers and teacher educators of Salem District in Tamil Nadu. It has over 6000 documents on various disciplines. The main collection of the library is in the field of Education, School Education, Teacher Education, Science Education, Social Science Education and Language Education. The collection of Library comprises of Books, State School Text Books, Encyclopaedias’, Dictionaries, Atlases, Maps, Journals, Conference proceedings, Educational Surveys & Reports, Action Research Reports, Research Project Reports, DIET Modules, Training Documents, and NCERT publications.

The library is subscribing to several national journals and magazines both print and online. The library is fully automated using “AUTOLIB “Library automation software. The in house Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is provided for easy searching and retrieval of library documents. All the in-house publications of the Institute were digitalized and made available for online access through the Institutional Repository.
